Gland Water Skid
Project type
Skid
Date
March 2026
Location
Acheson, Alberta
A skid-mounted gland water system supplying clean, pressurized water to the shaft seals on the booster pumps that transfer coagulant-treated material to Accelerated Dewatering. The pressurized water forms a protective barrier at each pump gland, keeping abrasive slurry and coagulant away from the bearings and seals while cooling and lubricating the rotating shaft. Fully self-contained on a single steel skid — pumps, valves, piping, and controls included — for plug-and-play installation and commissioning at site. Without gland water supplied to the booster pumps, only the Dredge circuit can be commissioned, recirculating material back to the tailings pond rather than advancing it through dewatering.
