Materials Barge

Rozen Steelworks had the privilege to design and fabricate a materials barge for maintenance activities at one of our partners mine sites. The scope included the design, supply and fabrication of a floating Materials Barge. The design included the Naval architecture, which followed the ABS guidelines for vessels operating in Low Temperature environments. We focused the design to make the Material Barge easily transportable from pond to pond over the life of the mine. Fabricating in one section allowed our partner to simply lift the barge onto a truck and easily transport to another pond without further assembly requirements. This will reduce future labour requirements and capital expenses making it a more efficient design.
